For the past 14 years I have operated my own business in Toronto as a wedding, portrait and event photographer. This brings me great joy to document special occasions and events for people by creating images for them.
I work with digital tools (cameras and computers) to deliver the images to my client base.
My photography journey began when I made my way to Sydney after completing university where I landed my first job with a small but successful wedding photo studio. I trained as an assistant for one year before shooting weddings solo (*for the company). It was a rush. I loved the documentary aspect as well as the challenge of being creative. Photographing people became my thing.
My original learning and love of photography was with analog (film) tools and processes. Over the years I have maintained a personal interest in shooting with film, hand processing the negatives and working in a darkroom to make prints.
Currently I am shooting mostly (but not exclusively) with black and white film.
I am inspired by the work of artists such as Weegee, Diane Arbus and Alfred Steiglitz.
I am driven by the courageous moment between photographer and subject.
